From the moment you get off the plane in Dubai, the architecture and wow-factor already hits you. Dubai reminds me of a mix of Las Vegas and Miami (but in the middle east), not a bad combo.
One of the great architectural buildings in Dubai is the Burj Al Arab, which is located on Jumeirah Beach. It costs at least $1,000 USD to stay a night and they charge to get in if you’re not a guest, notice the helicopter pad at the top.
I know must of you have probably heard of the indoor skiing resort in Dubai, well this is it. It’s in the mall of the emirates, and costs about 60 bucks for a lift ticket. The slope continues up and to the left from this picture, if you look at the mall from the outside it has a huge tube sticking diagnally out the top which is the rest of the slope.
After getting picked up at the Ski resort in the mall, we drove out of Dubai and into the desert to do some dune bashing in these fourrunners (ironic huh). We deflated our tires and we rode the dunes like a half pipe, it was a lot of fun.
The desert in Dubai is a serious desert and not like the ones we’d find back in Arizona. The sand was smoother than you find on the beaches in the caribbean
